      Because it is.
      Look at this picture

      That pale blue dot is the Earth! This picture was taken 3,762,146,000 miles away of our planet from Voyager 1 in 1990. That is barley outside the solar system. There are trillion full of planets and stars in the universe.

      For example if we could squeeze the solar system such as the Earth had the size of a drop of water, the sun would fit in a 1.5L bottle and the solar system would be equivalent to 8400 times all the water in the Earth.
