You use radiocommunications to send signals to control the things remotely. A bit like your remote control for the TV, but with different frequencies and techniques to transmit the signal in order to reach the satellites and other remote objects. This is a great job for an electronic engineer. The International Telecommunications Union is the central body which ensures that all these frequencies and the spectrum is managed efficiently.
