      Unfortunately yes, more than once. The latest have been corals in the Great Barrier Reef:

      Corals are very sensitive to changes in temperature, when they get too hot they suffer and start “sweating”, destroying the tinny seaweed that live on their surface. The seaweed is what gives the corals their colour and also provides food, so when it’s gone the coral turns white (that’s how we know from the satellite picture above) and eventually dies.
